KCA’s English Overnight Summer Camp on the Edersee offers the perfect mix of summer English learning and exciting activities. Our camp, for children and teens aged 9 to 16, is run by experienced, native-speaking teachers. Participants are grouped according to their English level, ensuring that everyone receives the best possible support. It’s a unique opportunity to improve your English while enjoying an action-packed week full of sports, adventures, and fun. Every afternoon features exciting activities such as the high ropes course, hikes to Waldeck Castle, adventure mini-golf, or stand-up paddleboarding on the Edersee. Evenings are never boring – sometimes we go on a mysterious night hike, other times we roast marshmallows around the campfire or enjoy a fun bingo night. “Don’t just learn English, live it!”. At KCA, we speak English not only during class but also during our daily activities and excursions. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to apply your new language skills in real-life situations while learning more about the cultures of your native-speaking counselors. Together, you’ll enjoy an action-packed, fun-filled experience. The weekly program includes sports activities like volleyball, American football, and capture the flag, as well as exciting excursions to places like the lake for stand-up paddleboarding, the corn maze, or the dam. The Edersee area has so much to offer! Another highlight includes the ferry and mountain railway rides.

Your counselors also have a range of evening activities planned. You can look forward to themed nights full of fun, like testing your luck at bingo or relaxing by a campfire with s’mores. Additionally, there are movie nights and thrilling night hikes. After this exciting and educational English camp, you’ll return home with improved English, wonderful memories, and new friendships.

Jugendherberge Waldeck am Edersee
Waldeck Youth Hostel’s unique location in the Kellerwald-Edersee nature reserve and national park on the North shore of the Edersee lake allows for a magnificent view of the mountains. The charming scenery and fresh air of the low mountain range are part of the Rheinish Slate Mountains. A natural beauty best explored on foot! The comfortable youth hostel offers spacious conference rooms and generous 4-6 person accommodation. With the nearby lake and spectacular outdoor facilities, there’s a wide range of possibilities for afternoon activities including swimming, paddleboarding, sailing, bubble football, archery, campfires, barbecues, and much more!

Meals are provided on a full-board basis, including breakfast, hot lunches and dinners.

Your qualified supervisors are native speakers from various countries who ensure that you have a carefree holiday and are always well looked after. They also act as your English teachers, so you have a dedicated contact person throughout the week. You can approach them anytime with questions or concerns.

There will be at least one qualified lifeguard on staff at each of our lakeside locations.

Please note: A welcome ceremony takes place every Sunday at 4:30 p.m., and a closing/certificate ceremony is held every Saturday at 09:30 a.m.
