Flexible Language Options for Parents

You decide for yourself how you want to design your stay. We offer two tailored options for the morning:

1. Basic Package (Included in the Camp Price)

• 1 hour of daily conversation training: A relaxed English course for everyday communication to break down language barriers and refresh vocabulary.
• Maximum Free Time: Use the rest of the morning to relax on the castle grounds, work from your home office, take walks along the Isar River, or go on your own excursions while your children are in the best of care.

2. Option Plus: Business English & Bildungsurlaub (Bookable as an Add-on)

• 5 hours of daily intensive training: Dive deep into the English language with a focus on Professional & Business English, negotiations, presentations, and email communication.
• Recognized as Bildungsurlaub: This intensive course is recognized as educational leave (Bildungszeit) in many German federal states. You will receive all the necessary paperwork for your employer from us.
• Flexible Add-on: Can easily be added as an upgrade for one or both parents during booking.

The Experience for Kids and Teens

Running parallel to the parent programs, the kids experience an engaging English Immersion Camp with 3 hours of English lessons daily. Through playful language lessons in the morning and varied activity programs, they learn English completely naturally through interaction with native speakers.

• KCA Bucks Reward System: Playfully motivates the kids to speak English all day long.
• Cool Native English Speakers as Teachers: Individual attention and a safe environment.
• Certificate of Completion: A big presentation event at the end of the camp week.

The Location: Burg Schwaneck in Pullach near Munich

Built in 1843 and fully modernized, the historic Burg Schwaneck perches directly on the high banks of the Isar River. It combines the charm of a historical fortress with modern seminar and overnight rooms. Surrounded by shady forests and expansive castle gardens, it provides the ideal backdrop for relaxation, sports, and learning.

Afternoon Excursions & Activities

After the morning classes, everyone comes together. We plan exciting excursions around the Isar and the Munich area:

• Hiking & Swimming on the Isar: Discover the picturesque Isar meadows directly below the castle. Hikes along the high banks lead to refreshing stops at the river’s gravel banks and swimming spots.
• Swimming Fun at the Outdoor Pool: Refreshing afternoons at the nearby outdoor pool with swimming lanes and large sunbathing lawns.
• Action at the Bouldering Gym: For climbing enthusiasts, we visit the nearby bouldering gym with walls and routes for every age and level.
• Discover Munich & Experience Culture: Whether a trip to Munich’s historic old town (Marienplatz, English Garden) or visits to museums, Hellabrunn Zoo, and English-language cinemas.

Evening Adventures at the Castle

When the sun sets over the Isar Valley, the historical magic of Burg Schwaneck truly comes alive:

• Historic Kegelbahn (Bowling): A special highlight in the vaults beneath the castle is the rustic Kegelstüberl. Families can compete in a convivial atmosphere on the classic vintage bowling alley.
• Campfire in the Castle Courtyard: Cozy evenings by the open fire pit with stick bread, singing, and English stories.
• Castle Night Life: Casino nights, quiz nights, and colorful talent shows in the Knights’ Hall round out the evening program.

At a Glance

The camp ensures a comfortable and pleasant stay with private rooms featuring washing facilities, as well as delicious meals, including coffee and cake in the afternoon. The week-long stay includes a welcome pack and excursions such as nature hikes, a corn maze, or a treetop adventure. The camp is designed to offer a perfect balance between learning and relaxation, allowing families to connect with each other and other participants in an English-speaking environment.

KCA is a recognized provider for educational leave events in Hamburg, Hesse, Thuringia, and Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Business English course within the framework of our family camp includes 5 hours of language instruction daily. Practical language skills for workplace communication are taught, along with the necessary linguistic tools for communicating with clients and colleagues over the phone, in meetings and video conferences, as well as during presentations and lectures. Additional units cover written language use in emails and when creating presentations. Finally, technical vocabulary for each participant’s respective professional field is addressed individually.

Burg Schwaneck in Pullach near Munich

The historic Burg Schwaneck perches directly on the high banks of the Isar River and offers a unique backdrop with its expansive castle gardens and shady forests.

Whether you enjoy hiking and swimming in the Isar, bouldering, or visiting highlights like Munich’s old town and Hellabrunn Zoo, there is something for every taste.

Accommodation is provided in modern, comfortably furnished rooms within the historic castle. Lessons take place in spacious seminar rooms, and everyone gathers for meals in the cozy dining room.

Dogs are very welcome at Burg Schwaneck.

Your meals are provided on a full-board basis, which includes a rich breakfast and lunch buffet, coffee and cake in the afternoon, and a traditional *Abendbrot* (cold evening spread) on select evenings.

If you have any allergies or special dietary requests, please let us know up to two weeks before the camp begins!

Our staff members are native speakers from various English-speaking countries (England, USA, Canada, South Africa, etc.). They ensure that you have an unforgettable holiday and are always well cared for.

Arrival: Sundays at 4:00 PM
Departure: Saturdays at 10:00 PM

Please note: A welcome ceremony takes place every Sunday at 4:30 PM, and a graduation/certificate ceremony is held every Saturday at 10:00 AM.

The youth hostel does not have parking facilities on the premises. After unloading your luggage, please park along the street above the youth hostel.
