KCA’s English Family Summer Camps are a unique experience for the whole family. Learn English, enjoy activities, or simply relax – it’s all flexible and tailored just for you.

Camp overview:

One week of English immersion (6 nights/7 days)
Morning English lessons for parents and children
Daily afternoon excursions and activities (e.g., corn maze, stand-up paddling, archery)

KCA’s English Family Camp offers a unique opportunity for families to bond while learning and practicing English together. Led by native English-speaking teachers, the camp provides a full immersion experience, with separate morning lessons for kids and parents tailored to their skill levels. While children enjoy three hours of engaging English classes, parents can participate in conversational lessons or unwind by exploring the scenic lake surroundings. Afternoons are packed with exciting family-friendly activities such as canoeing, archery, GPS treasure hunts, paddleboarding, and swimming. Families can also opt for downtime while children enjoy the activities. Evenings bring everyone together for themed programs like Bingo Night, Flashlight Walks, or Campfire Nights with marshmallows and s’mores, creating memorable moments for all.

The camp ensures a comfortable and enjoyable stay in private huts equipped with wash facilities, along with delicious meals, including afternoon cake and coffee. A week-long stay includes a welcome package and excursions like nature walks, a corn maze, or a tree canopy adventure. Designed for a balance of learning and relaxation, the camp allows families to connect with each other and with other participants in a fun, English-speaking environment. Even furry family members are welcome, as the camp is dog-friendly, ensuring no one is left out of the adventure.

Jugendherberge Hohe Fahrt am Edersee
Located on the beautiful Edersee, just next door to an enormous Nature Reserve, families at our camp stay in cozy four-bed huts near the edge of the lake. English lessons are held in spacious seminar rooms and the families meet up in the dining area of the main building for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. The hostel’s vast grounds offer plenty of opportunities for sports and games, especially those to do with water: swimming, paddling, windsurfing, diving, or sailing. For land lovers, there are football pitches, volleyball, and streetball fields. The Kellerwald-Edersee National Park – an ancient beech forest that was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011 – offers a manifold of opportunities for hiking, water sports, and tourist attractions.

We provide full board, which includes a hearty breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet, as well as coffee and cake in the afternoon.

If you have any allergies or special dietary requirements, please let us know at least two weeks before the camp starts!

Our staff consists of native speakers from various English-speaking countries (England, USA, Canada, South Africa, etc.). They ensure that you have an unforgettable holiday experience and are well taken care of at all times.

Arrival: Sundays at 4:00 PM
Departure: Saturdays at 10:00 AM

Please note: A welcome ceremony is held every Sunday at 4:30 PM, and a closing/certificate ceremony takes place every Saturday at 09:00 AM.

The youth hostel does not offer on-site parking. After unloading, please park along the road above the youth hostel.
